"BLACK"

BLACK explores the paradox of absence and intensity.

Created using acrylic, watercolor, chromo acrylic and ultra-black pigment technology, the work investigates the physical properties of light and perception. The deep black passages absorb nearly all incoming light, creating areas that appear less like painted surfaces and more like visual voids.

Against this darkness, vibrant fields of blue, green, red and orange emerge with heightened intensity. Colour becomes an event. Light becomes material.

Rather than functioning as a background, black takes on an active role within the composition — shaping space, disrupting depth and challenging the viewer's perception. The painting exists in constant dialogue between visibility and disappearance, presence and obscurity.

The organic forms floating within the dark field suggest microscopic worlds, celestial structures or fragments of memory suspended in an undefined space. Their meaning remains intentionally open, allowing each viewer to construct a personal interpretation.

As part of Alina Giza's ongoing exploration of colour, material experimentation and emotional abstraction, BLACKinvestigates how perception changes when light itself becomes a medium.
